Spring Break

Some of you have noticed that our Greek Island cruise ticker is missing from my blog. A few weeks ago we were sent paperwork to fill out with passport numbers and such. On the bottom of this it stated that our passports must be good for six months AFTER the cruise. We knew ours would expire during the summer and we would have to get new ones before summer travel. So we made several calls and found out that one of several things could happen. The first being that nothing would happen and our cruise would be perfect or we could drive to where our cruise departs and not be allowed on the ship or we could be allowed on the ship but not off the ship at some ports. We just were not willing to gamble. There will be other opportunities to take a cruise. Sooo we are spending spring break in PARIS!!!!!! We are all very excited. So we will see the Eiffel Tower, the Louve, Noter Dame's Cathedral and so many other sights. I will be taking lots of pictures.

I did a study abroad in Paris through BYU in 2001 and LOVED IT. Been back many times, and it's still a great place. It's somewhere you'll have to go back to again in order to see everything (you simply MUST go to Versailles at some point.)

Don't just quickly see the sights--go up the many, many stairs in both Notre Dame and L'Arc de Triomphe (but take the elevator on the Eiffel Tower!) to get some great views of the city. You can take the metro everywhere, it's not too hard to get the hang of (just be warned that the metro stations smell like urine!) The Louvre is huge. That can take a day by itself, and there's always a huge crowd around "La Jaconde" as they call the Mona Lisa.

Don't forget to check out Napoleon's Tomb at Les Invalides. Right across the street from it is the Musee Rodin, which I highly recommend going to (he's the guy who did "The Thinker" statue ). Be sure to buy a crepe with nutella and bananas on it!

Sigh... thinking about all this is making me miss my Paris! You'll LOVE it there!

Paris sounds amazing. Vance has no desire to go there, but I do. Maybe I will have to leave him behind. It's too bad about your cruise, but Paris sounds like a great Plan B! How great is it that you are seeing so many amazing places in the world? By the way, how did your kids get so old?
