Okay Dennis has been watching the conversion rate here VERY closely. We lock in for the duration of the loan at whatever the rate is for the day we sign the contract. He found out that the base is changing their rate this weekend and it was going to go up. We called our notar and the sellers to see if we could get it all signed today (Friday). It was amazing that everyone was able to meet today. Sooooooo we are the proud owners of OUR house in Tripstadt. The person we bought the house from is looking at signing her contract for her rental on the 1st and moving right around there. So as soon as she is out we can start the move in process. I am so excited I can hardly stand it. I even went on line to order some new bed linens for the two guest rooms. I didn't want to do it until everything was signed and the house was ours, well okay, the banks!!!!! So we are looking at only a few more weeks before we are in.
Fall is here. The tree on the blog title is from right here at the hotel. The hills are amazing with color. We are going to go on a hike up by our house either tomorrow of Monday. I am sure I will have some amazing pictures to post with all the fall colors.
We went to a market fest tonight in the village where our bank is located. It was a lot of fun. Of course I forgot my camera. They had these four feet tall logs that were standing up and were split in about six pieces long ways except for the last 1/4. They then lit them on fire. They had them placed all along the fest area. People would stand around them with their beer, wine and food. It was VERY cool. I wish I could have taken a picture. They had all sorts of food booths. Even some crafts made from people in the village. It was all very fun. We are just loving being here.

Wow..I had no idea you were buying in Germany. Are you planning on being there as long as you were in Japan? Congratulations!
I didn't realize that you were buying the house, did you have to buy?
You are lucky to have such beautiful things to take pictures of.
