Sainte Chapelle Cathedrale
On day two we also saw the Sainte Chapelle Cathedrale. It was so amazing. I had no idea stained glass could look like this. We sat inside for about an hour. There were workers in there to keep the noise down because it is a church and the quiet made it even that more amazing. It was constructed in 1246 and most of the glass is original. The church was constructed to hold the crown of thorns as well as other religious relics. There are only 15 windows but they are huge. They tell the stories of the bible. The artist used only 5 colors to make up the windows, Red, Green, Yellow, Purple, and blue. We timed it right so the sun was filling the room! I could have spent longer in there but by an hour the kids had had it and it was time to find a place for dinner.
