I am sick of sick people!!!!

This winter has been a tough one for us. We knew it would be. A new country, new germs and bugs. Everyone got their flu stuff up their nose except me. I was sick when we went in to do it. In December we caught the nasty cold/flu that was running rampant through the schools and church. I ended up with a horrible sinus infection and on antibiotics. With everyone else it settled into their chests and they all ended up on antibiotics for upper resp. infections. So what did the stuff up their noses do??? I was better off than them!!! January we had a stomach bug go through thank goodness only Jess and Meg got that. Over the weekend Matt would complain off and on that his throat hurt but he just kept doing what he was doing so I didn't think anything of it. Sunday at bed time he asked for Motrin because it hurt a lot. Dennis and I looked inside and his tonsils were huge, red with those pesky white spots!!! A visit to the doc on Monday confirmed strep. He never did run a temp! Two days later Meg comes home at the end of a long day. (They are getting ready for their play and she has been getting home around 6:30.) She looked horrible and was running a temp. One look in her throat and we knew. Another visit to the doc and yep she has strep too. I stated that night at dinner that there would be no more drink or food sharing ever again!!!! The kids just gave me that look. Jessica so far has avoided the strep but the jury is still out on that one. Thank goodness to see our WONDERFUL German doc is only about $30.00. Prescriptions off base are fairly priced as well. I love our doc. He speaks perfect English as does his secretary. So the last couple days have been really nice out, mid to high 40's. Today I opened windows and did some cleaning with some nice germ killing cleanser. Tomorrow I will do some more. Maybe I can get the nasty bugs out of here!!!! I am so ready for spring. Last night the kids decided to play rock band. Poor Meg still was feeling horrible. She would play a little then lay down wrapped in a blanket, my BYU blanket! That will go through the wash before I touch it!! Matt was sitting on the floor trying to sing and Jess was far away from both playing the guitar. She said she was staying as far away from the germs as she could. Let's hope that spring and summer are better!!!!!!

We have been pretty healthy over all here this year, until now... this bug has kicked my backside!!! glad you have found a good Dr. (I went in on wed to see my Dr. for things totally unrelated - but since I was clearly ill, and the report of the sicko kids, I was able to get school notes for them, while I was there, so that was really nice!)

I remember opening the windows for fresh air in the middle of winter in Michigan. The stale air just settles...
Sarah has been sick all week, but we don't know with what. Monday, Stomach ache, Tuesday, sore throat and trip to the doctor. Wed and Thurs she went to school, but with big rings under her eyes and so tired and not herself at all. Today when I got her from school, she had a headache and fever. "something" has settled on her, but I don't know what!
Hope everyone there is better soon! At least we can be outside. The almond orchards are in blossom and it is so beautiful! There is snow on the mountains, but nice and warm here!

That was funny when I ran into you at the doctor. Niki didn't have strep but the next day the stomach flu again. Fun winter! Oh I love Dr. Scherer too! FYI the receptionist (with short dark hair) is his wife! I hope everyone is better and life can go on healthy now, for both of our families!
