Monday in Bavaria

On Monday we went to Bavaria to see some very famous castles. One is called the Cinderella Castle. Walt Disney designed the Cinderella Castle after seeing this. It's real name is the Neuschwanstein Castle. There are only pictures of the outside because you can not take pictures of the inside. There were security cameras everywhere. Most of the original furnishings are still in the castle. Some of them are behind ropes or under glass but it was soooo cool. We took a 15 minute horse ride then had about a 15 minute walk to get to the castle. It was created by King Ludwig II. He went broke during construction and died before it was completed. He was found dead in a lake. No one knows if he drowned or if it was suicide. Construction was started in 1873. King Ludwig died in 1886. The castle was competed with money raised by selling tickets to see inside the caste. The last three years of his life he spent 3.7 million marks on the castle.

Isn't Neuschwanstein GORGEOUS? I've never seen it in the snow, it's so pretty! Living in Europe rocks! :)
