At about 11:00 I got a call from the middle school telling me I had to come pick up Matt because he threw a snowball, WHATEVER. So I am totally not mad and I show up, tell Matt he is NOT in trouble and go in to talk to the principal. He is the only kid being sent home! I say to the principal "so was he throwing the snowball at himself?" The other kid lied and said he was not throwing snow. The biggest problem and the reason Matt is not in trouble is they send these kids outside and they have nothing for them to do. No playground, no balls, NOTHING. If you send kids out into a field that is covered with snow what do YOU think they are going to do? I so much asked the principal this. She says they have sent home 400 kids in the last month and a half. Sounds to me like they need to change something. She says they announce every morning that "if you throw snow you will go." As Dr. Phil would say "so how is that working for you?" So Matt got a snow day and got to go home and play with Jessica in the snow. Wesley played outside with them till he was shivering and he was acting like his paws hurt. We shut him in the house and he stood and cried at the door. Stupid dog!!!

Oh man! I agree completely with you. It's a set up for kids to get in trouble. Glad he has a cool mom like you that keeps it all in perspective!
Good for you! What a lame thing to send someone HOME for! Maybe lunch detention or something a little less extreme but REALLY!
