Cherry Blosson Festival, Camp Zama Japan 4/5/08

Today was our Cherry Blossom Festival. They open the gates and allow the Japanese to come onto post. They do this every year. Today was so beautiful and the trees were in full bloom. There we so many people. More than have come out the last several years. People were standing in line for an hour or more just to get something to eat. They have different rides and stuff for the kids to do. One of the more popular is a fish game. They give you a little net and you try to catch a fish. Sounds easy right? Well the net part is made out of rice so the minute you get it wet it starts to dissolve. We ended up with four more fish!!! We still have four that have lived the last two years. The kids also have to get a candy apple. The Japanese set up food booths as well as game booths. They do the fish booth. It is a fun day and the weather today made it a perfect day.

Ah! The Cherry Blossom Festival! I remember our Japanese friends bringing us the big Bud Light for a gift from there! :)
