Surprise email
Dennis got a surprise email this morning from the person we bought the house from. She asked us to meet her at "OUR" house at noon on Saturday to get the keys and switch over electric and all into our name. The people actually meet you there from the different companies, do a reading of the meters and then it is yours. We are also going to get training on their heating thing or I call it the beast. It has it's own little room!!!! The wife has let us know for her it is a pain to use. For her husband no problem. So I told Dennis it is all his. We will also learn about the cistern (no idea how to spell that) I didn't even know what one was. It collects all the rainwater off the house and you use that to water your lawn and what not. It is a big thing over here and houses that have it sell for more. So we will get our keys in only five days!!!!!!!!!! We will take over most of the stuff from here on Saturday. So yay the count down of days instead of weeks has begun. I just wish I knew if our beds were coming on Wednesday or Thursday. I am actually having lower back pain because of the stupid bed here. It got so bad yesterday that Dennis had to take me to the ER. The doc said my left side is all locked up. He gave me some good meds but I can't drive and they make me VERY sleepy. Oh well it will all soon be over and it will be more than worth it. Once we are in and have our name on paperwork we can then apply for an international drivers license. You have to do it in your village and you have to have proof you live there. Then we plan to drive to Paris and also to Belgium. We all can't wait for that. If you are caught in another country driving with just your military license it is a 500 Euro fine. That is about $800.00. So we have made sure to just go see things around here.

Congratulations, I'm so glad your wait is nearing an end.
YAY for the house! i hope you guys are going to want to go to paris and see all the same stuff again next month! 38 days left and i will be home again! and i hope your back gets better soon! take a look at my snow turtle on my sight!
Of course we will take you to Paris you silly. You have to see the Eiffel tower. How could you come here and not see it???
Woo hoo! I'm so excited for you guys. I really hope your beds show up in time, I totally understand the bad back thing. Hang in there!
Kenna wanted me to ask you if you or your kids have heard of or have listened to her new fav band (they are from Germany). "Tokio Hotel". She got to meet them last month at a CD signing and she was in heaven. She totally wants to learn German and visit there someday soon!
Gretchen,
I will ask the kids and you guys are more than welcome to visit any time.
I bet you are so excited. I hope move in and unpacking goes smoothly!
Gretchen, Meagan knows who the band is. She says she kinda likes their music.
Is teh thing about the international drivers license a new rule/law??? I have never heard that before. I drove to Paris, and to Amsterdam when we lived there. My friend who just moved home to TX from there drove ALL OVER!!! Many trips to Poland for pottery, they went on several trips, she even drove and took teh fairy and drove in England with her POV. I'll have to ask her, but I don't think she ever got an international Drivers License.
Glad you are so close to moving in. The back thing sounds horrible, I'm so sorry. Hope you feel much better when your bed gets there!
Must be a new rule on the license...we drove everywhere! We just had to have our current stateside license along with our military one and we were good to go. Congrats on the house!
