Life

Life is good. The kids are back in school. Dennis found out Sunday night what he would be teaching this year. It changed several times last week. Some changes he was happy with and some he was not. He is teaching Biology, AP Environmental Science and Physics Applications. He was going to do jv volleyball but with the new preps, knowing we will move into the house sometime and have our stuff delivered he knew it would be too much so he backed out. He looks at it that there is always next year. He will be doing senior class this year.
Meagan has adjusted well. We had a rough time getting her schedule worked out but it finally came all together. She has worked hard these last two weeks at volleyball and just found out yesterday that she made the varsity team. She worked hard at the BYU volleyball camp this summer and improved in the areas she was weak in. The coach really wants her to become a strong blocker. Huuum wonder why that is??? Could it be she is already about 5' 9"!!!!!
Matt also has adjusted well. He was having a rough time of it for a while as there was no one his age around here. I told him once school started life would get better. He came home yesterday saying he had made about five new friends that day. Daniel is bored, bored, bored and VERY nervous about his mission coming up so fast. He has never been our one to deal with change very well. We pray that it will go smooth and all will go well. They do have a small but lead by great people young adult program. He has been attending the activity nights and has even gone on a couple trips with them.
I am waiting to move into our house. There is so much paperwork to be done. We think we have it all worked out and can sign all the paperwork next week and then we should be able to move in in about four weeks. I can't wait to get in, get our stuff delivered and get settled. It is starting to get cool here and I did not pack any of our winter stuff!!!!! It is all in our shipments. We have been living out of suitcases since the beginning of June so it has been looong past old doing this. I am tired of not being able to cook. We asked the owner of the hotel to get us a small fridge and a microwave. They did it gladly for us. Now the kids can have cereal in the morning if they don't want the hotel breakfast. The hotel breakfast is always meats, cheese, breads, some fruit and vegies. I love it but you just don't want it every day. We are all looking forward to having Jess come at Christmas to meet all our new friends and see all the new things we have found.

Cathy!
I'm so glad school is off to a great start! I bet you are so anxious for your new house. We've been in for almost 2 months and while we are all unpacked, there are a lot of unhung pictures and we have painting and stuff like that we want to do! So much I want to change in the yard too, but that is really long-term type stuff. Anyway, we are feeling more at home all the time and I bet you will once you get into the house!

I can't believe how fast the kids are growing up! Daniel leaving for his mission, Meagan shooting up to 5'9", Matthew going to the temple. Where has the time gone?

Congrats to Meagan making the Varsity team! I am dying for school to start. The kids don't start until Wed. Kenna is in the same boat as Matthew, not many friends her age this summer, so I'm hoping that school will be very good for her!

Hey Deckers!!!!
I found your blog through Bruce and Wendy's. We are just loving life at Ft. H*ll, err I mean Hood. Lets just say it's been an adjustment. :)
I'm not always that good at updating our blog. I try, but check us out anyway.
Hope all is well.
