Most of you reading our blog knew Kuma and some were even lucky enough to have spent time with her. She was the greatest dog ever. She loved our family (esp. Dennis) and was very loyal to us. She loved to play with the kids her favorite was playing ball. She even spent a couple summers in the home of our friends the Hamiltons. Where she would wait for Josh to leave so she could hop up on the bed with Rachel and sit under Andrew at dinner time to catch anything he might drop. We are sad to say that Kuma passed away on the 7th of March. It was the hardest thing our family has gone through by far. In December she started showing signs of maybe having diabetes. She was tested and was fine. She got sicker and sicker while the vet here could never find anything wrong with her. In January we happened to be in a store that has pets. They had a huge sale and they were about the same as a pet would cost in the states and they just happened to have a miniature schnauzer. After a long discussion over dinner we went back and Wesley joined our family. In February Kuma really went down hill. It was impossible to get her to eat anything. At the end I was even trying to feed her straight ground beef with some rice and she would not eat. The last week she just stopped eating and drinking all together. Her tests were showing major organ failure. The vet tried everything he could but nothing worked. We are all very sad to loose her but we are thinking of the 9 years we were blessed to have her. Little Wesley has made that loss a little easier. He spent the first four days looking for Kuma everywhere. They would often curl up together on her bed to sleep. We will all miss her.

UGH! You made me cry! We loved that crazy dog! :)
Sorry for your loss, she was a good dog and much loved by those who met her.
So sorry. I do remember Kuma as being a good dog, and I don't particularly care for dogs. Wesley looks like a cute little dog, and I'm glad you all have someone to help fill that hole in your hearts.
